Claire Charmet

Claire Charmet, born in 1983, has been leading the CHUV since June 2025. She is well acquainted with the institution, having joined its Strategic Council on January 19, 2024, before taking over as Director General.
With approximately fifteen years of experience leading healthcare organizations, she has held executive roles spanning all key hospital levers — strategy, finance, human resources, and performance — with a recognized ability to bridge strategic vision and operational execution.
Before joining the CHUV, she was Site Director of La Chaux-de-Fonds within the Réseau hospitalier neuchâtelois (RHNe), where she also chaired the executive directors’ committee. She has participated in or led major structural projects, including reorganization plans, real estate strategy, and hospital planning preparation, in close coordination with political authorities.
A graduate of the Institut d’études politiques de Lyon and holder of an international MBA in healthcare, Claire Charmet is distinguished by particular attention to care quality, risk management, and supporting teams through periods of transformation.
